A week in Koh Samui

We had a few lazy pool days with the kids at the start of our Koh Samui trip, making the most of our time all together in the Ibis hotel!

After a few days poolside Charlie and I decided to hire a bike and see some of the sights and other parts of the island.

We had been staying in and weren’t too far from the Big Buddha so we thought we would check that out and see what else we could find around there.

image.jpegAfter seeing the Big Buddha we headed towards a view point and stumbled across Wat Plai Laem temple which was amazing and we were so glad we had taken a wrong turn!

We then drove through Chaweng and onto Silver Beach which was a lovely beach with only a few hotels and restaurants on it. It was also quite strangely filled with lots of topless women sunbathing which proved difficult for us to take photos of the beach.

imageAfter this we headed back and checked out our new accommodation… The villa! Oh boy had we been looking forward to this and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Villa Mullion Cove was stunning and we got to stay there for 4 nights with Jaimee, Lolly, Mum and Chris!

We spent the rest of our time catching up with people as they arrived and on Friday there was a night market on in the fishing village in Bophut. You could get all sorts of shopping and food there. Charlie was pretty sick (so sick actually that he didn’t even take any photos!!!) so we didn’t stay long but here’s some soft shell crab from the market…

imageOh and on another night we tried duck mouth which was actually a bit similar to jerky.
