We celebrated 100 days travelling by hiring a bike and heading to Cola beach. We’d heard quite a few people mention it and everyone would always say how beautiful it was.Getting there was a bit of a challenge. We had to ride down a rocky dirt path for ages which would be fine if we had an off road dirt bike but instead we had a pretty crappy scooter. After a very slow and bumpy ride we parked up and walked down to the beach. Everyone was right, it was beautiful! The beach has 1 hotel which has some bungalows and two restaurants. There appeared to be only 20-30 people on the whole beach and no one trying to sell anything. It was hard to believe somewhere so unspoiled and calm exists in such a main part of India! They even had a surf life saving team even though it was so quiet. We went for a walk along the beach and then headed to the lake for a swim. The water was cold and refreshing, a welcomed change from the usual warm water ocean.
We spent a few hours swimming, reading and relaxing before having to make our way back along the rocky path while the sun was still out. It was such a great day and the perfect place to celebrate 100 days of travelling.
